2. Flight’s Definition
flight- The act of flying; a passing through the air by the help of wings.
What is flight???
Flight could be a bird, plane, bat, or hang glider.

3. What is Bernoulli’s principle??
Bernoulli’s principle- states that for an in viscid flow , an increase in the speed of the fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in pressure or a decrease in the fluids potential energy.
This is how it all works!!!

4. The most important part…. Wings!!!
Not Chicken wings!!!!
Here’s How it works
there is a curve to the wings which helps push the air over the top of the wings more quickly than it goes under the wing. As the wing moves, the air flowing over the top has further to go and it moves faster than the air underneath the wing. So the air pressure above the wing is less below it .this produces the upward lift.

5. Parts of an airplane Parts of an airplane are…
Cockpit, turbine engine, wing, winglet, horizontal stabilizer, rudder, propeller, elevator, flaps, aileron, spoiler, slats, and fuselage.

The first airplanes invented were gliders, invented in the late 1800’s. A glider is an aircraft that supports in flight the dynamic reaction of the air against their lifting surfaces. Also, Gliders do not use an engine.

First in Flight!
Orville and Wilbur Wright (aka the Wright brothers) were two Americans from Kitty Hawk, NC. They were credited with inventing and building the world’s first successful airplane on December 17th, They made the first powered and sustained glider. (Fun fact: First in Flight is North Carolina’s license plate slogan)

8. More on the Wright Bros. ....
Wilbur Wright was born on April 16th,1867 in Millville, Indiana.
Orville Wright was born on August 19th,1871 in Dayton, Ohio.
In 1892, the brothers opened the Wright Cycle Shop in Dayton.
There first flight failed, though they kept trying, little did they know that soon they would succeed in constructing the world’s first successful glider on the sand dunes of Kitty Hawk, NC.

The Wright Bros. invention has improved and made a difference in the world. It has gotten more successful every time and become more technical each model! Flight and air travel has made a big change in the world of today!
