1 Airmar H2183 Heading Sensor
NOTE 1: Sensor must be powered via a 12 VDC (0.5A) supply. NOTE 2: Tape back yellow & orange wires if the MFDs NMEA output is not connected to the Sensor. NOTE 3: The Display power may be wired directly to the Sensor cable or wired separately via a 12V (0.5A) supply. NOTE 4: The Sensor Yellow & Orange NMEA input wires only need to be connected if True Heading data is required. NOTE 5: Airmar supply different cable options with the Sensor, it is recommended that the NMEA0183 cable without a display connector is used. Follow Airmar’s Installation instructions.

2 Airmar H2183 Heading Sensor
The Raymarine Gyro stabilised fast heading sensor (E12101) is now no longer available. Our Customers can choice to fit the Airmar (H2183) #A Axis Heading Sensor as a replacement. used with radar enabled MFDs calibrated with an MFD in the system Connected via NMEA0183 only shall not be connected to a system that has an autopilot. (If an S1G, S2G, S3G or SPX Autopilot is used in the system, the heading should be used from the Autopilot Course Computer).

Sensor Calibration: The Compass Sensor must be calibrated on the water; failure to do so may result in inaccurate compass readings. - Follow Airmar Compass Calibration Instructions. When undertaking calibration select a Heading Data box on the MFD. While undertaking the Linearization process the Heading display will show dashes. When completed successfully the heading will return to the MFD display. After Linearization is complete the heading may need to be adjusted, this is achieved by turning the Sensor.

The MFD user selectable option: “Bridge NMEA Heading” should be set as defined in the user setup instructions: If a second heading source is in the system. - “Bridge NMEA Heading” should be set to OFF. If the Airmar Sensor is the only heading source in the system. - “Bridge NMEA Heading” can be set to ON. The Airmar Sensor can not be connected into the system via an NMEA0183 converter(ex. Actisense) or NMEA2000 / NG Converter.
