4 Standard licence grant Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Licensor grants the Licensee a non-exclusive, non- transferrable, perpetual licence to use the Product for the Licensees own internal business purposes.

5 Chest special considerations authorised users and other permitted users authorised = students, faculty members, employees other permitted = other student, other teachers; retired members of staff; alumni members, visiting academics, researchers and research supervisors, visiting students; associated persons, walk-in types of use teaching research personal educational development administration and management development work other uses in special conditions

6 What we did end to end review launched consulted with HE/FE researched suppliers own terms revised user and usage clauses consulted all data suppliers

7 Usage The licence is granted for the following purposes only:- teaching personal educational development and research administration and management of the Institution inter-library loans downloading and inclusion in course packs, theses and other student works permanent archiving of theses and other student works in JORUM/other repositories.

8 Users (1) students registered by the Licensee, wherever located and visiting students while they are on the Licensees premises in the UK or the Republic of Ireland; (2) personnel (including contractors) used by the Licensee to undertake teaching, research, administration or support activities, including visiting academic staff while they are on the Licensees premises in the UK or the Republic of Ireland; (3) former students and retired members of staff, but strictly for the purposes of personal education or research only and not for any commercial purposes; (4) any other individuals while they are on the Licensees premises in the UK or the Republic of Ireland (walk-in users).

11 What well do next refine licence terms, listen but lead permanent archiving – explain/negotiate non-UK students < 5% - incorporate as standard retired teachers, former students, walk-in users – consider commercial pot
