1 UCF USLI 2009-2010 Organization Team Development Proposal Requirements September 17 th, 2009

2 UCF USLI 2009-2010 Purpose/Objective A competition to design, build, test, and launch a reusable rocket within NASA standards to reach an altitude of one mile. Launch Vehicle must carry a scientific payload Teams scored in multiple categories:  Vehicle Design, Payload Design, Project Review (PDR/CDR) Quality, Outreach, Web- Design, Closest to Altitude, Best Looking Rocket, Team Spirit, and Overall Winner

3 UCF USLI 2009-2010 Requirements Carry a scientific payload Reach one mile in altitude Design to be recoverable and reusable Launch day preparation shall be <4 hours Land within one square mile Data from payload must be collected, analyzed, and reported following the scientific method

4 UCF USLI 2009-2010 Requirements Continued… Launch Vehicle must contain a Tracking Device Commercially available NAR/TRA motors Provide your own Ground Support Equipment Launch scale-sized rocket prior to FRR Total cost of rocket and payload must not exceed $5000 Public Outreach project involving 75 younger students
