Ryan Rooker presents…

Summary Part 1  My movie, which I have decided to call E.S.P Agent, is about a boy named Cody who is hit by a car, and loses his ability to walk. Because of this, bullies try to ruin his life. But due to the experimental medicines that the doctors at the hospital wanted him to take, he gains the ability to read minds. When Cody realizes this, he and his friends have a little fun freaking out the bullies, which makes him popular with everyone else. Everything goes great, until the bus arrived….

Summary Part 2  Cody sees a strange bus outside his yard, and then is told by a hooded figure to get on it. After reading his mind, Cody knows he is not in danger and gets on. Sitting down on the bus, he meets another boy with superpowers named Nathan. Nathan explains he was born with the power to teleport, and also says he saw a few other kids with powers as well. When they get off the bus, they read the sign in front of them: Mutant Youth Training Academy. And that’s when the story really begins.

Acting Roles/Shots  While I’ll be playing Cody for obvious reasons… This movie has many acting roles. There are 12 other roles, though most of them are only in one or two scenes. We also will use actors who don’t have any lines in the current scene as extras in the background (with the exception of Catalyst, the villain). The shots will mainly consist of close-ups and two-shots for scenes with heavy dialogue, wide shots for action and effect, and a few establishing shots for the cutaways to new locations.

Power Simulation  In order to simulate the powers of Cody, Nathan, and Catalyst, We will do the following in post-production:  Cody: For Cody’s mind reading, we will do a close-up of the person he’s reading, following by a voice-over. For his second power that comes later, the ability to control people’s minds, we will have a close up of Cody with a focused expression, and then a close-up of who he takes over. Then the person who was taken over will act like Cody, while Cody himself is silent. We then have a close-up of the person, then a close-up of Cody breaking focus. Then the victim returns to their original personality.  Nathan: Nathan’s teleporting is the easiest to pull off. First, we do a close-up of Nathan, then he closes his eyes, and after that we cut to where he teleports to.  Catalyst: Catalyst’s powers don’t come until the climax, but when he transforms, we will have him wear a monster mask, while Catalyst and everyone else act like he is super strong.

Product Placement  As far as product placement goes, the first shot of the movie is of the front of Innovation Middle School. Apart from that, the viewer, if attentive, may notice other references to real life products in the background such as Apple computers, company names on posters, and references.

Humor/Target Audience The age group we are aiming at is somewhere between 8-15. The movie’s genre is a mix between comic book superheroes and secret agent movies, which may broaden the audience altogether. There are a few sarcastic moments, a bit of slapstick, and one or two moments that pay homage to Mel Brook’s satires.

So what do you think?

END  E.S.P Agent is owned and written by Ryan Rooker.
