3 Reading Strategy: Visualize What you “see” in your mind when you read a text. The mental movie you have running in your mind as you read. Use your imagination and five senses! Your mind focuses its mental images mainly on characters and setting.

4 The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins What do you see in your mind (visualize)? “Sitting at Prim’s knees, guarding her, is the world’s ugliest cat. Mashed-in nose, half of one ear missing, eyes the color of rotting squash. Prim named him Buttercup, insisting that his muddy yellow coat matched the bright flower. He hates me. Or at least distrusts me.”
