2 Information about London The city of London is the capital of United Kingdom. It is the country's largest city, most populous metropolitan area as well as the largest urban zone in the European Union. It was settled by the Romans in 43 AD. It has been the capital since the eleventh century. The city is divided into two halves by the river named Thames. Also there are thirty-two Boroughs in London. Some of them are well known to every European. These include City, Westminster, Kingston, Greenwich, Fulham and Chelsea. Since the beginning of the existence of the city dates back to almost two thousand years ago, it's hard to characterize the architecture of London's buildings properly.

3 Big Ben Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. It is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third- tallest free-standing clock tower in the world. The clock tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England.

4 London Eye The London Eye, at a height of 135 metres, is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over three million people in one year. At the time it was erected, in 1999, it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world.
