2 UNHCR/INEE PEACE EDUCATION PROGRAMME Structure Structured sustained programme where skills and attitudes follow in a logical order building on the child’s cognitive and affective development. Internal skills and values followed by the external application (or exercises for application).

3 Programme Structure Formal Education  1 lesson per week of a structured programme every teaching week for 8 years (being expanded to 10 years)  A variety of games and activities to develop the skills and values  Teachers have 3 training sessions (between 5-10 days per session)

4 Programme Structure Non – Formal Education (Community programme)  A 36 hour course usually conducted over 12 half days.  2 workshops per month per facilitator (or facilitation team)  Workshops run consistently for the year.  Concepts are explored and developed through activities, role plays, games and discussion.
