3 Boundaries and climate Greece is situated in Eastern Europe, in the end of Balcanic Peninsula Its boundaries are: –Albania on the N-W –Macedonia on the N –Bulgaria on the N –Mediterranean Sea on the E, S and W –Turkey on the W The climate is temperate Mediterranean with mild winters and hot dry summers 3

4 Territory Greece is mostly mountainous, the most important mountains are: –Mount Olympus (2919 m) –Pindus Mountains (2637 m) The major rivers: –Evros River –Loudia River The major lake: –Prespa Lakes The seas: –Ionian Sea –Sea of Crete –Mediterranean Sea 4
