Gimmel Tammuz is coming our way, What are we doing to prepare for this day? As always the Bnos Chabad has a Hachana in store, It’s connected to Hayom Yom, but wait! There’s more! The Rebbe compiled the thoughts of each day, And we will be learning them, in a creative way. Each morning, when you log onto class you will see, A slideshow Hachana on the board for you and for me. You’ll read the Hayom Yom and discuss it too, The main thing – you’ll see what ACTION you can do, That connects to that day’s thought and to Moshiach as well, And you’ll fill out a form – what did you do? Please tell! Submit your form, and then you can grin, Because who knows? The raffle you may win!

Scene 1: (Narrator, Sara, Rivky, Esty) Narrator: A few weeks before the big Machanayim Tournament… Sara: Who wants to be captain for our Machanayim team? Remember this is for the whole school! Rivky: I am the best player. I should be the captain. Esty: Rivky, stop being ridiculous! Maybe you’re the best in 4 th grade, but not in the whole school! Kaila Kugelmacher is the best player in the whole school, it’s a fact! Rivky: Nuh, uh! (sulks away)

Scene 2: (Narrator, Rivky, Kaila, Dina) Narrator: The next day at recess… Rivky: (to herself, in boastful tone) I can’t wait to show the big girls how well I play Machanayim! Kaila: C’mon guys let’s play!! (all girls make playing noises) Rivky: Wow, what a game! Now I feel really small compared to all you big girls who play so well! Dina: Don’t worry, Rivky! Just remember, you should always strive to be bigger and better! Narrator: Rivky spent the next few days practicing and got pretty good. But, she always kept in mind that she wasn't the greatest and should aim higher.

Scene 3: (Narrator, Sara, Rivky, Esty) Narrator: A week later… Sara: So who will be our Machanayim captain? Rivky, didn’t you want to do it? Rivky: I’m really not so good compared to everyone else, but I am trying to be better and better! Esty: Rivky, stop being ridiculous! You are such a good player! You should toooooooooootally be the captain! Rivky: Okay, if you say so! I’d love to! Narrator: Only when Rivky was humble and realized she wasn't so great, was she able to really get good at playing Machanayim.

חסידות איז א ג-טליכער פארשאנד, דער פארשטאנט וואס ווייזט דעם מענשען ווי קליין ער איז, און ווי גרויס ער קען זיך דערהויבען. Chassidus is a Divine intelligence, an understanding which shows man how small he is, and how great he can become.

Lieba’s cousin came to visit one bright sunny day, Cousin Adina ran to her and said, “Come, let’s play!” Lieba said, “Hey, it’s Chitas time now, Would you like to join me, I’ll teach you how!” Adina said, “Sure, show me around!” Lieba learnt with her Chumash, with Rashi in sound. Then they sang their kapitelach of Tehillim, the Rebbe’s and the Yom of the day, And explored Tanya the chassidishe way!

Then came Hayom Yom, and what did it say? “Chassidus tells a person how small he is, and big he can be one day.” “What does that mean?” Asked Adina questioningly, “Well,” Lieba said, “When I look and see, How much Torah could be learnt by me, And how many Mitzvos I could do, It would sure make me scared, so what should I do? I have be humble, yet keep in mind, That I have the potential of all mankind.”

R’ Elazar, a Chossid of the Alter Rebbe, lived in Yerushalaim. One day, he decided to travel and move to Russia to live with the Rebbe. The Chassidim in Russia asked him: “In Yerushalaim you Davened and learned all day and you do the same here. Why the need to move?” He said, “The answer revolves around two questions and one answer. In Yerushalaim, before Chassidus I would ask how Hashem could reward me for all the Davening and learning that I do. And I would answer to myself that Hashem is a ‘kol yachol’ he’s capable of anything even giving me the rich reward I deserve. Now, after Chassidus, I ask myself how Hashem can allow such an unrefined person to learn His Torah? And I give myself the same answer; he is a ‘kol yachol’ and is capable of even listening to my Davening and learning. And the transition from asking my first question to asking my second question is worth the long and difficult journey.’

Brainstorm! What does this Hayom Yom mean to YOU? What can YOU do today that connects to this Hayom Yom which will also bring Moshiach closer? What can we learn from this Hayom Yom, בפועל (in action)?

 Go on the Bnos Chabad website and fill out a form once you take this into action!  Every day there will be a raffle for all the girls who submitted the form. 1 lucky winner will receive $15 to a store in Crown Heights that you can use in store/over the phone! BONUS: How do you describe Chasidus?

Here’s how you go to the form.
