This provides the students with a deeper understanding of the concepts. (Rounding, add/subtract, multiplication, and division) Examples how these topics are different Word problems are big on the EOG Parent Tools (website) There will be grade level unit assessments There will be small groups for math based on level.

9 Literacy Discussion Language Arts grades are word work, grammar, and writing. All students will participate in guided reading groups. Those reading groups differ depending on the reading level of the students. There will be grade level unit assessments.

10 Reading Logs Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each night. In October, students will begin writing a summary of what they read each night. A good summary includes what happened in the beginning, middle, and end of what they read. Reading logs may change as the year goes on- to meet our learning needs. Pizza Hut Book It!
