2 Viruses A Virus is something that you can get on you on your computer which can damage documents on your computer. What is a virus? What damage can a virus do? Viruses can damage important documents. It can freeze your computer screen and also delete or copy you files. What types of different viruses are there? 3 Viruses How can you stop yourself from getting a virus on you computer? You can stop yourself by getting a virus by not downloading things from the internet and playing games on the internet on website that you can’t trust, also click on things that you don’t know what they know. Are there any drawbacks to using anti-virus software? The drawbacks of anti-virus software are that it can be quite expensive to buy. They could make even more damage if you downloaded the wrong thing.

4 Hacking What is Hacking? Hacking is when somebody able to see your documents. They can get to see these document by hacking onto your computer. What damage can hackers do? Hackers can see your documents that you have on your computer like photos, wills, CVs and videos. How can you stop hackers being able to get on your computer? You can stop hackers from being able to get onto your computer be including upper case letters, lower case letters and numbers in your password

5 Backups Why is it important to back up your work/ information? It is important to back your work up because if you get a virus then there is a large chance that you will lose any important information. What should you back up your work or information to? You should back you work onto a CD, Memory Sticks or you could save it onto another computer or onto an SD card. Where should you keep your backed up work or information? You should back your work onto a CD’s, memory sticks or floppy disks. How can you keep your backups secure? Put them away in a draw and don’t leave them lying around anywhere.

6 Stuxnet Stuxnet is a computer virus that was targeted on Iran’s atomic weapon system. It was created to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program. It was transported on a memory stick. Stuxnet is an Internet worm that infects any Windows computer. It was designed and released by the US and Isralian government.

7 Backing up onto a Memory Stick Click onto file, then save as.

8 Then click onto my computer.

9 Click onto files you want to save work onto.

10 Now click save.
