Submitting Mileage For ODP Leagues

Monthly vs. Bonus Based Leagues that pay mileage monthly USHL – paid by USHL via direct deposit NAHL/NA3HL Frontier Division – paid by NAHL via direct deposit SPHL – Usually delayed until the middle of the following month and paid via direct deposit from ODP Manager How much is mileage? USHL – 8% of the cost of a gallon of gas ($3.99/gal and below) 10% ($4.00/gal and above) per mile Calculated each month from nearest MSP gas station to Johnathan Morrison NAHL and NA3HL “Frontier Division” Only - $0.22/mile SPHL: Dependent on the number of games played that month.

Monthly vs. Bonus Based Leagues that pay mileage at the end of year via a bonus Bonus is based off the number of games you worked NA3 ACHA

How do I submit mileage? Anyone who skates a game in a league that pays mileage monthly will get an email at the end of the month USHL/NAHL/SPHL/NA3HL Frontier Division Email will contain the following Link to Mileage Submission Worksheet Notes on submitting mileage

Deadlines Mileage for the preceding month is due at Midnight CST of the 10 th of the month. Example: September Mileage is due on the 10 th of October. No excuses, get it in. Late submissions will be penalized 10% Late submissions will be paid one month later. Submit only for the prior month!

Terms All games scheduled through ODP Ranger MUST be included on the worksheet. No exceptions. If it was an ODP scheduled game, it must be included. The ODP Mileage chart (tab on the sheet) must be used. If not coming from a city in the chart, use Google Maps. Submit only for games you drove your car. If you rode with someone- 0 miles If you were provided a rental car by the league (NAHL Alaska)- 0 miles

Terms Continued Mileage Alternative Doesn’t exist anymore – Get yourself to your games. Fly, train, or car rental. ONE AND ONLY RULE Do not cost a league more money! Example Live in Chicago, Work with crew from DSM in Omaha, Fly to Omaha. Can only charge CHI-DSM-CHI because crew still drove from DSM to OMA and you would have driven with them.

Terms continued Fill out Worksheet and Submission Form. Link can be found ODPLinks.com Follow all directions for saving and submitting form. IMPORTANT: “Click Here” must be clicked to finish submitting mileage. If you don’t do both, you won’t get paid. All leagues are submitted through the same “Click Here” link.

How mileage is figured. Whatever league you’re headed TO is responsible for your travel (mileage). Whatever league you work last (before heading home) is responsible for your travel home. Any game within 50 miles (100 miles round trip) is considered a LOCAL game and does not pay mileage. Examples Norwalk house to DSM rink (13 miles)

Requesting a mileage exception If you feel that a trip deserves mileage because you are picking up a non-monthly mileage paying league game on your way back from a USHL/NAHL/SPHL game you may request an exception. All exceptions must be requested prior to submitting mileage. Request must be sent to director of that league. Either Chris or Johnathan Chris: NAHL Johnathan: USHL/SPHL Not SCOTT ZELKIN or MARK FAUCETTE!

Requesting a mileage exception Example: Live in DSM Skate in Fargo Friday and Saturday Skate in Rochester on Sunday Return home Sunday after your Rochester game. This trip would qualify for a mileage exception. We don’t expect you to drive from Fargo to Rochester to DSM without mileage. This would be a USHL exception request since you’re asking the USHL to pay your mileage. You would email Johnathan and ask for an exception.

Filling out the Mileage Submission Form Important: Read a follow all directions on “Example Sheet”. Start with NAME and MONTH

Filling out the Mileage Submission Form Submit each LEG of a trip. Do not submit for round trips Date, Ranger Game ID, From, To, Partners who rode with you, miles, League you were driving to. “League you were driving to” will appear as a drop down. Depending on what league you select, the miles will automatically go into the proper column.

Drop Down For League

Drop Down Continued Miles will automatically fill into the correct column If miles are under 50 (one way) form enters LOCAL

Mileage Totals Column totals will add up at the bottom of the sheet. Total Miles Driven is for all games. Why is total miles driven important? Taxes!

Final Instructions IMPORTANT: Submit file Submit Miles by hitting “Click Here”. Save file as: Your Name ODP Mileage Month Year

Notes Include notes for legs that need explaining.

CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED Multiple cars driving to a single location for NO reason. Examples Game in Sault Sainte Marie, MI Referee – In Toledo Linesman 1 – In Flint Linesman 2 – Drove from Pittsburgh ALL THREE DROVE AND PUT IN FOR MILEAGE

CHEATING CONTINUED Example Two Game in Muskegon, MI Referee 1 – Drove from Minnesota Referee 2 – Lives in Chicago house Linesman 1 – Visiting parents south of Chicago Linesman 2 – Drove from Detroit No one carpooled coming from the West Unacceptable You are expected to carpool COMMUNICATE with each other.

Cheating Consequences You will be caught Mileage will not be paid Assignments will be pulled Possible dismissal from the ODP
