2. Courageous  We picked out the theme courageous because Bruno is very brave to sneak food out of his kitchen and secretly bring it to a friend that he met. He does all of this to have someone that he can talk to, trust, and relate to.

3. Comparing and Contrasting Themes  The theme would not be shy because Bruno is never shy. When he meets Shmuel for the first time, he really wanted to be his friend and without any hesitation. He went over to the fence and talked to Shmuel.  The theme would be talkative, because Bruno walks up to a boy that he has never seen before and he immediately starts having a conversation with him.

4. What is the Genre? What is genre? The genre of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is historical fiction, because it is a made-up life with events that really happened. Around the 1930’s and 40’s, there actually were concentration camps that made that locked up all of the Jews. This story is both informational and entertaining.
