2. The Travels Of Vasco da Gama Hello, my name is Vasco da Gama and I am a Portuguese explorer. I began my journeys in July of 1497 and returned on September of 1499. My goal was to find a passage to India and bring back lots of different spices. My crew and I rounded the Cape of Hope on November 22.I reached Calicut, India on May 20, 1498.

I was born in Medellin, Spain, to a family of lesser nobility, I chose to pursue a livelihood in the New World. I went to Hispaniola and later to Cuba, where I received an encomienda and, for a short time, became alcalde (magistrate) of the second Spanish town founded on the island. I discovered Mexico in 1519. A accomplishment I am proud of is I a Spanish Conquistador who defeated and conquered the Aztec Empire

I was the first English Explorer to sail around the world in 1577 to 1580 I was gone for three years. I discovered what is now called San Fransico and called it New Albion. I claimed the land for England.

5. The Travels of Jacques Cartier Bounjure, I am Jacques Cartier, I am a French explorer and I studied navigation in Dieppe, a major French center for navigators. In 1531 Francis the first commissioned me to look for the Northwest Passage, the short route to the Pacific Ocean. In 1535, the king sent me out again. I sailed up the St. Lawrence River and recognized it. I continued on, establishing Mont Real which you call Montreal, Canada. One of the things I discovered is the St. Lawrence River.
