3 THE VIKINGS Denmark, Norway, Sweden The word ‘Viking’ means ‘a pirate raid’ The Viking Age – AD 700 to 1100 Vikings mostly settled in Scotland and eastern England (they founded Dublin) The Vikings lived in tribes and were pagans Bold and skillful seamen
