6 Schedule n Monday –Music n Tuesday- Round-up n Wednesday – P.E. and Library (wear tennis shoes) n Thursday – Computer Lab (Microsoft Word) n Friday – Art n Lunch -11:10-11:55 – We have recess first and eat at 11:30 n Recess – 9:55 – 10:15 Please send a snack and a water bottle for your child.

7 Nuts and Bolts - Curriculum Reading "Some people there are who being grown forget the horrible task of learning to read. 8 State Standards n Our curriculum is aligned with the NEW Common Core Standards and the State Standards for Social Studies and Science n The students are given the opportunities to learn the standards n Assessment will be based on your child’s progress with the standards using rubrics, projects etc.

9 Homework n Homework Bags – Books - reading strategy guide – Direction Sheet-book related activities - online – Math Activities – online (most of the time) – Reading - Wranglin’ Reader Program – 30 minutes a day (5 days)– – you must initial the Homework Report Sheet

10 More Nuts and Bolts n Queen Bee or King Bee for the Week n Birthdays n Book Orders n Supply donations - $5.00 a month. n T-Shirts - $6.00 (cash only, please) n Lunches - $2.10 n Communication 696-5846/e-mail

11 Volunteers n Thank you n Names can be added to the list n New calendar will be posted n Need Volunteer for: – Chili Cook-off n Field Trip Volunteers

12 School Tax Credit n You can claim $200 per year ($400 if married filing jointly) n Complete form for receipt. n Designate that the money be Second Grade Extra-curricular activities n We will use the money for Field Trips to enhance our units of study!!

13 Field Trips n Arizona Science Center (Phoenix) n Town of Oro Valley n Zoo n Tucson Historic Museum n Disney Animal movie in May

14 Other Special Events Second Grade Musical - April 26 th Thanksgiving Pot Luck Feast Tuesday – November 22 nd Pet Day More information about these and other events will be sent home.
