2. INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION In Cats family wild animals like Lion, Tiger, Cheetah and Leopard are included. There are About 40 different types of Cats. They are the best hunters among flesh eating animals and they are well trained for hunting.

3. CHARACTERISTICS OF CATS CHARACTERISTICS OF CATS The claws of the Cats can be pulled back into folds of skin. This claws helps it to grip any thing and to tare flesh. They walk on there toes. They hunt in the night because it can see very well in the dim light. Its back bone is flexible. Its skin color are black, white, grey, brown and other light color. Its eye ball color are golden, green and blue color. They shed their coats in every summer and spring. They are neat.

4. KINDS OF CATS KINDS OF CATS There are two kinds of Cats they are 1. WILD CATS :The Cats which live in the forest and hunt the animals like Deer, Horse, Antelope and other Domestic Animals are called WILD CATS. 2. HOUSE CATS : The small Cats which are kept as pets in your house are called HOUSE CATS.

5. WILD CATS WILD CATS Before 40 million years ago many wild cats were there. They are Puma, Jaguar, Lynx, BayLynx, Caracal, European Wild Cats, Golden Cat, Jaguarundi, Ounce, Margay, Pallas Cat, Ocelot, Saber-Toothed Tiger & the serval but now these Cats are only few they are Lion,Tiger, Cheetha & Leopard.

6. LION Lion is “THE KING OF THE FOREST”. It lives in grasslands & sandy plains. It has yellowish – brown fur. It is 8-10 feet long & weights as much as 400 pounds. The male Lion as bushy tipped tail. They hunt young Elephants, Deer, Antelopes & other domestic animals.

7. TIGER TIGER Tiger has yellow fur with black stripes. It is 9 feet long and weights as much as 400 pounds.It lives in the jungle. It kills animals not only for food but also for the blood. It hunts Deer, Antelope and other Domestic animals. It is a excellent swimmer and climber.

8. CHEETHA CHEETHA Cheetha is called as ‘HUNTING LEOPARD’. It is 6 feet long. It has yellow fur with black spolts. It’s claws cannot be folded. It is the worlds ‘FASTEST MAMMAL’. It hunts Deer, Antelopes and other Domestic animals.

9. LEOPARD LEOPARD Leopard has tan (leather) coat with black spolts. It is 7 feet long and weights 125 pounds. It can climb the tree with hunted animals weighting as much as 80 pounds. It hunts Monkeys,Birds, Antelopes, Jackals and other domestic animals.

10. HOUSE CATS House cats give birth for 4 – 8 kittens 2 or 3 times in a year. They want the warm, dry box to sleep & two meals per day. They keep themselves clean by using their rough tounge. Kinds of House Cats There are two types of house cats they are 1. Shorthaired Cats 2. Longhaired Cats
