2 What is ACES?  ACES(APEC Cooperation for Earthquake Simulation) project was endorsed at the APEC ISTWG Meeting in Singapore on October 1st, 1997.  Main purpose of the ACES project is to understand the earthquake and tsunami generation mechanism in Asia Pacific region.  One of the main activity in the ACES project is the International workshop scheduled every two years.

7 Objectives of the Project  Develop Science and Technology Network for earthquake and tsunami simulation established by the ACES project in 1997.  Share the state-of-arts technology on earthquake and tsunami simulation among APEC economies.  Establish assimilation technology of numerical modeling for the prediction of future earthquake and tsunami disasters.
