Steps and Solutions to common Acuity questions

 Acuity page of website contains this and other helpful power points and help sheets: http://assessment.aurorak12.org/acuity/ http://assessment.aurorak12.org/acuity/  Common issues in Acuity can be quickly and easily solved by the school assessment coordinator, teacher or test proctor ◦ Student login issues ◦ Student test assignment issues ◦ Reports not generating because they keep saying “Items Not Scored”

Has it been overnight since the student was enrolled in courses in IC? Make sure student is using correct student ID number (8 digit district ID) as username and complete, legal first name as password. Can student login now? Teacher or SAC log in with their own personal login to Acuity and go to: Students & Educators, Classes, View Classes, Select your school, Find your class and click on it, Find student and click on Actions/Login as student. Is student able to login via this work around? Call APS service desk at ext 28203 Wait overnight and try again tomorrow. Can student login now? Student is ready to take the test. If student can login now but does not have any tests assigned, see next slide for “no tests assigned” issue.

 School and your name  Student name - first and last  Student ID number  Student grade  Teacher name

Has the student been enrolled in the class at least since the previous day? Double check IC to be sure the student is showing in the class in IC. Acuity classes should be a reflection of IC. Is student in class in IC? Have the school enrollment clerk add the student to the appropriate course in IC. Wait until next day to have student log in and try again. Does student now have access to the assessments? No. Wait until next day and try again. Does the student now have access to the tests after logging in? Student is now ready to take the assessment. Call APS service desk at ext. 28203

 Go to: Assignments, Assessment Assignments, View Assignments. On the next screen enter the subject, assessment type, and grade and find your assessment.  Once you see the assessment name pop up on the right, click on the blue hyperlinked name of the test assignment and you will see a list of schools (click the plus sign to open your school to see specific classes/students). See example on next slide.

 To correct/move students to Scored from “In Progress”, clicking finish is required. Train teachers and students that whenever a student is finished with the MC items, they must click red FINISH.  All students “In Progress” will need to login (or teacher or SAC can do), choose Assessments, find the assessment in the list below, and click on the Start button. When the test comes up use the navigation across the top to click the word Exit. Then on the end page, click the red Finish button.  For reading and math predictives we can force close any students still showing “in Progress” at the end of the assessment window.  To avoid students showing as “In Progress” train proctors to have students click red Finish button when they are done with MC items.

 If students are showing in the “Partially Scored” column, that means that CR scores have not yet been entered (or processed-it is taking approx. 3 days for CR scores to process and upload to the site in this extremely high volume time of the window). Please make sure teachers know to enter CR scores prior to the end of the window if they have any students still showing as “Partially Scored”.
