Participants’ age

Participants’ students

Place of work

Forum 1-L1 in English lessons; Forum 4-Intercultural education and YL; Forum 2-Teaching with technologyForum 5-The good language teacher Forum 3-Who/what got you going; Forum 6-The ICT and the language teacher

If you have not posted comments so far, would you share why? I’ve been busy (11 responses) There hasn’t been enough time to follow the discussion, make sense of it and post a comment that fits. There’s been too much to say in too little time. It took me time to understand how things work (in technical terms) I have no Internet access at home

Do you have any suggestions for the SEETA future forums (topics, hosts, organization, participation)? Organization: Allow more time for the forums (it takes time to read other people’s posts and I can’t contribute something useful). Let’s share ideas about concrete exercises! I’d like to read about lesson plans / activities I'd like to see more volunteers sharing responsibility

Topics of interest: using portfolios; fostering student independence; alternative forms of evaluation; motivation; creativity; teaching students with learning difficulties / special educational needs; human rights and ELT; dealing with large classes; working with minimal resources; teaching speaking; misbehaviour in the classroom and its impact on the teacher; 21st-century teaching methods; good textbooks; team teaching.

In your opinion, what is the most valuable feature of the SEETA community? the exchange of ideas and information (7 responses) sharing (opinions / experience/ positive vibrations) (7 responses) the opportunity for (professional) communication. (4 responses) getting to know each other / our neighbours (2 responses) its openness (2 responses) its international dimension (2) promoting ideas keeping pace with methodology making friends accelerating professional growth getting informed by reading what the others have posted its flexibility its dynamism its inclusiveness its diversity

Something else you’d like to add? Reflection on participants’ own experience and feelings It’s very useful (2 responses), for trainee teachers as well. I always learn something new, useful and applicable in the classroom. I learn so much about the use of the language itself, especially from the native speakers Everyone is so helpful when sharing different kinds of experience. Those I had the chance to meet here are full of enthusiasm, energy for what they do and they are open-minded for new techniques for making achieving the same goal which is make learning of language more effective in less time. I go back to forums during the holidays. I’m glad this community exists, found out teachers’ problems tend to be the same. I feel I'm not alone.

Wish sentences I wish I had more time to keep pace with the SEETA forums... I wish more colleagues were interested. Practical suggestions A newsletter would be great, some sort of a monthly digest. In the future, I'm hoping that SEETA will be able to set up proper teacher training seminars for its members. Encouragement Keep on with this Good job! I liked all the topics and guests so far! Thank you very much!

Your age: 40-45 Your students are: Adults (teenagers, young learners) You work at: University (state school, private school) Do you have any suggestions for the SEETA future forums (topics, hosts, organization, participation)? I do but I’ll keep it secret as I want to surprise you. In your opinion, what is the most valuable feature of the SEETA community? The variety of its members.

Something else you’d like to add? One of the most fundamental reasons for teaching language is to pursue the vision of a global community whose members use language as an affective means of communication that enables us all to work together for the good of all humankind … ( Herbert Puchta, IATEFL President)

Thank you very much !
