2. Housing Precinct (HI & WI) RATIONALE:  Housing shortage on Home Island causing overcrowding and contravening Health standards. GOAL:  To address the issue of the Housing shortage experienced on Home Island as well liaise with the Commonwealth on proposed residential development on West Island. PROPOSAL:  Encourage DoTaRS to upgrade utilities such as Water & Sewerage, so that Home Island kampong can be further developed;  Compile a housing development strategy that address’s the data obtained from the Demographics Study;  Actively seek funding from relevant agencies to assist in the construction of new residences;  Liaison with Commonwealth on residential development on West Island. AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:  DoTaRS  Water Corporation (Utilities Provider)  Homeswest  Country Housing Authority

3. Sports & Recreation Precinct (HI &WI) GOAL:  To construct one indoor court size facility, including appropriate function and changerooms on both islands to compliment existing outdoor recreational facilities. RATIONALE:  Currently no indoor facility is available for sports such as basketball, netball, indoor soccer & cricket, badminton, volleyball, gymnasium etc;  No appropriate function and changerooms are available to cater for existing outdoor arenas.

4. Sports & Recreation Precinct (HI & WI) (cont.) PROPOSAL:  In conjunction with DoTaRS, establish a SDA with the WA Department of Sport and Recreation to undertake a study of Sport and Recreation requirements for both Home and West Island.
