10. A phrasal verb consists of a verb and a word whose form looks like a preposition. But the second word does not function as a preposition. Instead it is part of the meaning of the phrasal verb. 13. Workbook Page 165 Sample Response: A long time ago a king named Solomon went to visit the ruler of another land, the Queen of Sheba. The king was famous for being very wise, so the queen decided to prepare some challenges to test how wise he really was. Solomon easily passed the first tests the queen set up. Then the queen led him to a room full of flowers. They all looked the same, but only one was real. The challenge was to identify the real flower. At first the king was unsuccessful. Then he asked to open a window, and a few minutes later he correctly identified the real flower. King Solomon was able to solve this puzzle because a bee had flown in through the window and gone straight to the real flower.
