Health & Safety of Miners  Reduce exposure to Health Hazards  Proactive in the prevention of hazardous conditions.  Developing plans that will give optimum results in ventilation and roof control.  Educate miners on recognition of hazards and supervisory personnel on examinations of the mine.

4. Morale support  Education of the miners improve understanding of importance of safety.  Develop programs that award miners for safe work practices and elimination of hazards.  Do as I do and not do as I say attitude by safety personnel.

5. Reduction in mine costs  Finding and correcting condition before Federal or State inspectors.  Reduce cost for medical/health care related to injuries and/or dust exposure.  Improving productivity through education and training.

6. Communication  Reporting requirements such as the 1-800 number and local field office supervisor.  Meeting with MSHA personnel in a proactive way to get ahead of issues.
