Project Site UNION VILLAGE VESSIGNY VILLAGE SOBO VILLAGE 5 A “Brownfield” site Approved and zoned for heavy gas based industrial development Substantial infrastructural works already installed.

6 Development of a project for the commercialization of natural gas-based petrochemicals. The plant which will be constructed will produce 1,000,000 tonnes per year of Methanol 140,000 tonnes per year of Methanol produced will be used to produce 100,000 tonnes per year of Di-Methyl-Ether (DME). The Project…

7 What is Methanol? What is DME? Clear, colourless LIQUID Looks like water No odor in low concentrations Flammable Clear, colourless GAS Slightly sweet odor Flammable Similar physical properties to LPG About Methanol and DME

13 THE IMPACT ON : HEALTH ENVIRONMENT SAFETY THE COMMUNITY Project Impact & Mitigation Measures Local / International standards i) Mitigation / Management plan ii)Emergency countermeasures to be installed

There is no known adverse negative health impact from the production of Methanol & DME 7 Methanol Plants in Point Lisas / One of the oldest products in the petrochemical industry DME has been long used for propellant for hair spray Assessments will be conducted as per the CEC requirements by the EMA Health Impact 14

Dust & Noise from Piling - mitigation measures in place Traffic - There will be increased traffic during construction. As part of the CEC requirement a Traffic Management Plan will be developed. Water Quality – Storm Water Management will be developed Construction Waste- Standard Waste Disposal Methods-Bins on site to segregate waste & Industrial waste treatment Environmental Impact. During Construction During Operations Water Effluent– Appropriate treatment. Historically no adverse environmental impact has been reported Air Quality and Noise will be monitored and will be within EMA requirement. 15

16 Handling Spills - Storage tanks surrounded by dirt dyke - Spill Kits will be put in place Fire - Fire Tender - Fire Fighting System Medical - Emergency Medical Technicians on site - Ambulance - First Aid Facility Safety

Employment (Expectation from the experience of another project) During Construction – 3000 jobs (peak time) Operations - Direct 180 jobs - Indirect 200 jobs Site Workers/Employees – Point Lisas Energy Association (PLEA) Pass Card certified Local Contractors/Sub Contractors – Safe To Work (STOW) certified Training & Development - Plan to be developed to increase skills of local personnel (via continuous discussion with surrounding community) Community Development. 17
