5 Assignment 1 (Play Review) You are to view a live theatre Analyze the play you view in terms of how the ideas in the script and those used in the staging of the play were influenced by the society in which it was written and produced Write a review paper based on your analysis You are to include your personal responses of the viewed production Your review should not exceed 5 pages. Taken photographs that are relevant for the review may be included.

6 Assignment 2 Script Writing Choose one of the texts prescribed for form four and form five students (literature component in English Language Syllabus) – Transform the narrative into a 20 minutes play production Please adhere to script writing convention Avoid from using narrator Make sure the characters have equal time for speaking lines

7 Production 1 (15 percent) Monologue (within 5 minutes) Evaluation is during 2F2F Please submit hardcopy of the script and diary of your preparation on the performance day. Email me the soft copy 1 week before the performance date. Failure to do so will result in points being deducted. 1 point for 1 day late. 1 week after your performance submit response/reaction paper (both hard copy and soft copy). Email the soft copy. Similar terms on late assignment are applicable. Recommendations: please use costume, personal props and stage props.

8 Production 2 (25 percent) Group drama If you are alone, get help from 1 person for dialogue. That person could be someone who is not taking the course – could be your colleague or spouse. This production is for 15-30 minutes depending on the number of people you have in your group. Please submit your script and also a journal of your journey in producing the group production. Submit soft copy 1 week before the performance date to my email address. Final entry of journal should include item on the usefulness of this activity in teaching/learning environment. Submit the hard copy and email me the soft copy 1 week after the dater of performance.
