9 Time suits am. pm. Routine What is involved How long is the piece of work? When does it need to be handed in? How is it assessed? 18 hours a week outside lesson time Plan ahead A timeline for a piece of work What needs completing now or in the future Cut out last minute assignments or revising for tests Where Home/library/school

10 Study periods Ask what he completed at school Routine Regularly complete work so it does not build up Distractions Avoid/remove/limit distraction Breaks Treat with drinks and a snack after a period of sustained study.

11 ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALIT Y Students with good attendance and punctuality will be rewarded with good achievement.

20 Challenge – A levels are not suppose to be easy. There will be days when the work seems too hard and your child is tired and dispirited. Partnership between us all – we will work with your child and their family to support them fully. They are never alone.

22 Sixth Form work All work is completed with 100% effort Take pride in the presentation of their work Label C/W and H/W in the margin AMDG on the top of all work THUD (Title Handwriting Underline Date) Organisation of folders – one per teacher Every lesson they must bring their folder and text books

23 Beyond the lesson No such thing as a free period – when they are not in lessons they will be studying Independent learning beyond the classroom – study room and at home They will always have something to do Those who were previously successful – plan your day, be here early and be prepared to stay late
