Flyers are generally used to advertise a product or service that is available for a limited amount of time.
Where do we find flyers?
Typically, flyers are one of the least expensive forms of advertising.
The basic goal of a flyer is to communicate a message at a glance, so the message should be brief and to the point.
The basic layout and design should be free of clutter without too much text or too many graphics.
Use white space generously to set off an image or text.
Consider directional flow in placing elements on a page. The left corner is usually read first.
Consider your audience when choosing type sizes. The older your audience, the larger the print might need to be.
Always prepare a thumbnail sketch, which is like thinking on paper, before beginning a project.
Always include: Who What Where When
Layout. The arrangement of printed elements on a monitor or sheet. This may include a sketch or finished plan.
History of printing. Before DTP Publications were prepared by pasting pieces of text and art to light-weight cardboard. Changes were difficult.
