3 Humour: laugh your troubles away! Think of a funny thought!

4 Use your imagination to place yourself into a calm, happy situation.

5 Build your confidence! Say “ I will be fine, I will get through this!” You’ll become a stronger, more confident person from your experiences.

6 Use hobbies or special interests to take your mind off of your troubles.

7 Maintain proper perspective. Say to yourself “It could be much worse.” or “Things can only get better!”

8 Use drama: imagine yourself as a superhero! What would he do to get through this?

9 Have a reality check! In the scheme of things, this event isn’t really all that bad – is it?
