1 Welcome to Marist Basketball! Marist Big Red Fall Camp 2014 Aims The Marist Big Red Basketball Camps are designed to develop and improve the skills that are involved in the successful execution of the game of basketball. We try to achieve these goals through individual and group drills and instruction, as well as through team play. Attention will also be given to each individual player’s particular needs. Structure Each night’s session will last exactly 2 hours, and be structured to develop each young man to his fullest potential. Location All sessions are held at the Marist High School Main Gymnasium. Staff All sessions are under the direction of Marist Head Boys’ Basketball Coach Gene Nolan, who is assisted by his varsity and sophomore coaching staff. Insurance We suggest that each camper be covered by some type of medical insurance under his parents’ medical plan. Marist High School cannot be responsible for injuries that may occur during the camps. Cost The cost of each camp session is $80 per person. Each session is 3 days long (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday), for 2 hours per night. “Playing basketball at Marist helped me grow as an athlete, but more importantly as a man. It helped lay the foundation for my athletic and academic future while allowing me to make lifelong friendships” Nic Weishar, Marist Basketball “Class” of 2014, graduate of St. Damian, and current student-athlete (football) at University of Notre Dame (majoring in Business). Dear Future RedHawk, Welcome to Marist Big Red Basketball! This past summer, we had the opportunity to work with over 300 young men in our Fundamental Skills and Shooting Skills Basketball Camps. It was a great experience for both players and coaches. If you spent part of your summer with us at our basketball camps, thank you for coming. If you did not have the chance to come, we hope that you consider joining us for an exciting opportunity this fall. This October, Marist Big Red Basketball will be hosting its 14 th Annual Offensive Skills Camp which will run Sunday, October 26 th, Monday, October 27 th, and Tuesday, October 28 th, 2014. This camp will focus exclusively on the offensive aspects of basketball. Passing, ballhandling, dribbling, perimeter shooting, post play, shooting off the pass, and shooting off the dribble are areas that will be emphasized daily. During our three-day clinic, we will also have daily contests, lectures-of-the-day, guest speakers, and the coveted Big Red Camper- of-the-Day award. Regardless of your age or skill level, our Offensive Skills Camp will help you improve as a basketball player. Due to the large turnout for our summer camp, we are anticipating a very good turnout for this fall camp. Please sign up as soon as possible to ensure a spot. Good luck with the start of your school year, and we hope to see you at the fall camp! Go Big Red!
