2. To write a series of diary entries for a person involved in a New Zealand disaster

3. 1.Select a NZ disaster for diary writing.NZ disaster 2.Brainstorm different people involved the particular disaster, e.g. a survivor, rescue worker, friend / spouse / family member of a victim. 3.Decide which person to write a diary for.

4. 1.Now that you have selected a NZ disaster you need to learn as much about it as possible. 2.Complete a KWL chart for your chosen disaster, picking out questions for research.KWL chart 3.Start gathering information.

5. Imagine you were there and write diary entries describing what you see, hear, feel, smell etc (use a Y or X chart to help with planning). Make your diary entries cover a few days – not just the day of the event – so you include what it was like afterwards. You are writing this from a personal point of view so make sure you get the feeling of it across – not just the facts. You could consider writing diary entries for the days before and after a particular event.
