3 How to use PowerPoint Step 1: Open the Microsoft PowerPoint software.
It’s easy and fun! Step 1: Open the Microsoft PowerPoint software. Step 2: Click on PowerPoint template, then hit OK. Step 3: Choose a template, then hit OK. Step 4: Select an AutoLayout, then hit OK. Step 5: Click on the textboxes to type your text.

4 You created your first slide!
Now try adding a picture. Step 1: Go to and search for images. Step 2: Choose an image (perhaps the cover design of your book) and right click on it. Save on your desktop. Step 3: Return to your PowerPoint. Click on Insert. Step 4: Scroll down to Picture, click on From File. Step 5: Click on your image from the desktop, then hit Insert.

5 Great work! Time to customize your slide.
Choose your colors. Step 1: Click on Format, scroll down to Slide Color Scheme. Step 2: Click on the Custom tab. Step 3: Choose your scheme colors, then hit Apply. Add a movie or sound. Step 1: Click on Insert, scroll down to Movies and Sounds, then click on Movies or Sounds from Gallery. Step 2: Select one, then click Insert.

6 Way to Go! Keep practicing. PowerPoint takes a little getting used to,
Create additional slides by simply clicking on New Slide, then repeating the previous steps. Keep practicing. PowerPoint takes a little getting used to, but you’ll get the hang of it! Don’t forget to save your work!

10 Summary Sal tells her grandparents the strange story of her friend,
Phoebe, as they drive from Ohio to Idaho. During the journey with her grandparents, Sal learns a great deal about herself. An important lesson taught in this book is that you should never judge another person until you have walked two moons in his or her moccasins.
