1. New Eco Code!!!

2. We thought it was time to give our Eco-Code a revamp and redesign it, so some children from year 5 and year 6 started to revamp the Eco Code. We really liked that the current Eco Code was to be sung in the rhythm of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as all of our school knows this song including the teachers! We also really liked some of the lines of the current Eco Code and wanted to keep these.

3. We made our Eco Code a little bit longer and we found it quite tricky as we had to make sure we had the same number of syllables as the song and we also wanted our lines to rhyme.

4. We all came up with some lines and phrases and then we put all of our ideas together to write our new Eco-Code! We had lots of fun and we got to experiment how we wanted to perform it. We did a rap, a chant and a song with actions.

5. Once we had got our performance perfect the Eco Council were invited to come along and judge our performances. A winning one was chosen and this was a performance that was to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star along with actions so we are going to perform it to you. Then we will all do it together.

6. Pick up rubbish; keep it clean, The greenest school you’ve ever seen. Let us all reduce the waste, Make our world a happy place. Close the windows and the doors, We are eco warriors. Making compost for the plants, Keeping lettuce from the ants. If we follow Eco rules, We can be an Eco School. Close the windows and the doors, We are eco warriors.

7. We want to display the new Eco- Code around our school and the Eco-Council will be holding a competition for the best designed Eco-Code poster! A letter will be sent home tonight and the winning poster will be displayed all around our school!!!
