Youth Advocacy Annual questionnaire 2012 Results

How would you rate the service you get from Trafford CYPS?

How would you rate your social worker?

What would you change or keep the same about your social worker? 14 x nothing I would not change anything I would keep every thing the same All fine Keep the same Keep: amount of contact, always asks me what I want A lot of help, there if I need her She’s really good and helps me a lot I would keep the way my social worker deals with situations Keep that I can speak openly with him I like the fact she is always willing to help me More KFC’s! Joking The socialising Social worker should have an answer phone so I can leave a message if I need to Easier to get in touch with, more organised I would like to see her more and get to know her better See me more Should come a lot more often To come and see me every month More time Stop ruining my life Change everything To stop annoying me! In my opinion my social worker should listen to me more and not treat me like I am a small child That she should be on my side more He doesn’t really bother with the family To be straight up Make sure my social worker helped me more Poor time keeping

Has it become easier to contact your social worker?

How much help do you get around your education?

How could we improve this? 6 x nothing You can’t There is no way to improve You couldn’t because it’s really good No improvement needed Everything’s fine, I keep education to myself You couldn’t improve my education it’s brilliant I don’t struggle so it’s fine Tell residential homes to contact the social worker straight away about education Being better at asking how to help me By me being on my own For me to listen more in lessons Get someone to help me Need to improve still I am happy with the NTAS support I am getting Get me up!

Do you think your health needs are being met at the moment?

If you were in charge of the care system in Trafford, what three things would you change? 10 x more pocket money An allowance for kids? More funds 6 x nothing 6 x more contact with family 3 x More activities More days out Taken for tea More holidays Holidays abroad 3 x later bedtimes Later nights at weekends 2 x More opportunities 2 x more friends 2 x more social workers visits 2 x more clothing allowance Bigger house

Play room Give Grandma a break More placements Who is placed with me Make sure all the homes are good Children have more say To listen to what people say Should see social worker more often so I don’t have to talk over the phone People who work here People’s work positions Get rid of muppet workers Respect Allowed pets TV in rooms in children’s homes Food No missing stuff No receipts The way they treat me Saying positive stuff No rules

Anything else you would like to tell us? What else could we do to help? More safer places for children to go to e.g. community clubs See mum see brother more I don’t think there is any much more you could do to help because I am totally fine and happy I would like to thank my social worker for always being there More emotional support I think it would be a really good idea to have the social workers have meetings with children more often even if it is just for a coffee to ensure the children’s views and feelings are taken into account. Social workers actually help families instead of pressuring us to make un-needed changes Give us more clothing money Out of borough placements to be visited more frequently Help with any problems that may effect children and be more nice For the staff to take us on holiday more.
