T-Link II Secure Internet Alarm Communication

Product Goals… High level encryption Software upgrades via network Universal compatibility Non-Static IP addresses (DHCP) Stand-alone unit More room for future features additions Direct connection from the DLS/SA to the T-LINK TL2xx without a need for the receiver Support multiple receiver IP and Email Addresses

TL-250 Hardware… Power using 12V DC from external supply (panel Aux.) 10/100BaseT Ethernet Flash upgradeable memory Four N.C. input triggers Two PGM outputs PC-Link port for panel integration Serial RS-232 port Keybus for PC5108 zone expander

Network Alarm Communication Industry Status… U.S. approved for UL High-Line (AA) in 2001 NFPA approved for Fire alarm communication in 2001 UL Commercial Fire Communication approved in 2001 ULC in Canada approved network communication 2002 Future of DVACS: Increase Cost, Less Service ULC no longer accepts dual line dialer for ULC fire 2003 New Private networks (LAN/WAN) installed every day Broad Band service reliability and lower service costs

DVACS Vs. IP Network Communication DVACS Per account cost is high Slow data communication Polling loop Regional coverage Future availability is uncertain Service provider has monopoly IP Network: Per customer cost is low Fast data communication Event initiated communication National (global) coverage Future is Strong Multiple service providers big and small (competitive market)

TL-250 Operation Modes… PC-Link Panel integration with Power864 and Maxsys Stand alone operation up to 12 programmable inputs Stand alone panel Bell Follower Sur-Gard DVACS to IP Converter (R&D trial)

TL-250 IP Communications… UDPUser Datagram Protocol IP Internet Protocol TCP Transmission Control Protocol DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol TFTP Trivial File Transfer Protocol SMTPSimple Mail Transfer Protocol DNS Domain Name System ARP Address Resolution Protocol

TL-250 Encryption… T-Link II uses AES Encryption when Enabled All information transmitted to receiver and TL-250 AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) Encryption standard by the FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Replacement of the old encryption standard DES X 10 faster then 3DES ULC Level-4 (polling and hardware substitution detection)

TL-250 Network Requirements… Network 10/100BaseT or 100BaseT only networks All IP addresses used for T-Link or DLS can be Dynamic All IP addresses used for receivers “DRL3 IP” components must be Static IP Addresses Any routers, hubs or gateways must support static IP addresses, TCP/IP and UDP protocols. All Ports being used for T-LINK communications must be available 100% for the T-LINK and should not be shared by any other allocations. If the default T-LINK ports are in use, please select unused open ports
