3 Causes of the Industrial Revolution  Factor 1-The Agricultural Revolution -New crops from the New world: Corn and Potatoes -There were new farming methods: -Enclosure- Movement in Britain- Parliament passed laws to allow landowners to fence off land

4 Causes of the Industrial Revolution  Factor 2- The Domestic System/ Cottage Industry -Small scale industry which was done in peoples homes -Most involving the production of textiles (cloth)- which was mostly made of wool

5 Causes of the Industrial Revolution  Factor 3-New Economic Systems -New theory- capitalism -Increase of trade and demand for manufactured products

Rural- Living in the country Capitalism- An economic system in which investment in and ownership of means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations Entrepreneur- A person who organizes and manages any enterprise Labor- Productive activity, especially for the sake of economic gain
