2 Key figures for the Norwegian pilotage service 2010

3 Pilots 272 operating from 25 pilot stations 15 pilot apprentices There are 3 female pilots in Norway, one recruited in 2006 one in 2007, and one in 2009

4 44 708 pilotage operations in 2010 6% higher then 2009 97% of the bookings via SafeSeaNet In average each pilot performed 164 pilotage missions in 2010

5 Annual turnover in 2010: 84.000.000 € 10,4% higher then 2009 2800 valid PECs, 66 less then in 2009 Norway do not have any deep-sea pilotage service

7 Rocknes The Norwegian State has been cleared of liability The previous award of kroner 23 million (3 million euro) in compensation for incomplete sea charts has been overturned by Borgating district court.

8 Rocknes Blamed navigational errors in strong currents and poor visibility for the accident The charts had no significance in the sinking. The vessel had not been properly loaded and the cargo and ballast proportionswere not as they should have been to achieve the required stability If the stability had been correct the vessel would have still grounded but not capsized
