1. Creating a Folder/Directory for Your Webpage files & folders on “frank” (MTSU’s Server) If you already have a webpage setup on “frank”, then omit Step 1 & proceed to Step 2. Step 1

WinSCP You will be using the WinSCP program to create a "public_html" folder that will contain all of your webpage files Using WinSCP (Secure File Transfer) WinSCP 1st you will download the WinSCP installation file to your flash drive & then install it there.download WinSCP 2 nd, you will open the WinSCP program to configure it so you can login to your "frank" account (details on next slide ).

3. Configuring WinSCP WinSCP Start WinSCP & the dialog box will appear. Your computer is on left “frank” will be on right We will configure the program so you can login to “your “frank account We will fill-in the blanks on the next slide

4. Configures WinSCP so you can login to your “frank” account Type in: frank.mtsu.edu login nameleave blank* leave blank Save] (Saves your login settings) Click (2): [ Save] (Saves your login settings) [Login] This will connect to your account Click (3): [Login] This will connect to your account * When you are installing WinSCP on your flash drive fill-in the password & Click [Save] (2) L LL Login Name You must use your “Webmail” /frank password which maybe different from your Pipeline MT password… (1) frank.mtsu.edu Do not save your password on any computer you are using at MTSU !!!

5. You are logged into your “frank” account To create the [public_html] folder: Click Here Click on the right side of the screen Click on the right side of the screen Press [F7] or Click the Create Directory Icon below Type public_html in the “New folder name:” blank Click [OK]

6. You just finished setting up your webpage folder (public_html) on your “frank account” public_html is setup Link to Step 2 Later, when you have created your webpage files you will “drag” them from the left side & “drop” them on the public_html folder.

7. In STEP 1 – Setup public_html on “frank” (just completed this step) (just completed this step) In STEP 2 – In WORD create [index.htm] (your homepage) In STEP 3 – Use WinSCP to transfer index.htm to [public_html] folder on “frank” Webpage Building
