2 MEYER & MENDELEEV (1869): Showed connection between atomic mass & properties.
Mendeleev – given credit (published first). Arranged by atomic mass. Found that properties repeated. Predicted existence & properties of undiscovered elements. (Ex. Ge) Recognized discrepancies in properties. (Ex. Te & I)
