4 Task (1) Students have a pair-work interview to collect information about when and why people should wear suitable clothes. Task (2) Students have a group-discussion to design their favorite school uniform, then write a passage about their designed school uniform.

5 Task 1Task 2 PurposeTo understand why people should wear suitable clothes on different occasions. To decide what their favorite school uniform should be like Context An information collector. A school-uniform designer ProcessStudents in pairs report a fashion show to know some kinds of clothes with Chinese unique characteristic. Then they have to know when and why people should wear suitable clothes on different occasions. They finally learn what kind of materials and styles they can design their favorite school uniform with. Students discuss in groups to gather opinions about their favorite styles of school uniform from their peers. Then the teacher collects all and makes a list of common ideas on the blackboard. At last the students write a report about the new school uniform. ProductA list of materials and styles for their school uniform A passage about their favorite school uniform for their headmaster.

Listening to some materials about clothes. While-task 1.Interviewing a partner to collect information about wearing different clothes on different occasions. 2.Exchanging the role of interviewer and interviewee. Then having a discussion about wearing uniforms. 3. Group-discussion about the present school uniform and designing a new one if they don’t like it. Post-task Delivering a speech about the newly-designed school uniform.

The teacher gathers all kinds of opinions from all groups. 2. The Ss write a passage to their headmaster about the newly-designed school uniform as a group. Post-task: One student from each group reports their design. Ss vote for the best design.

21 Grammar Object Clauses It depends on who will design our uniform. She asks what materials they should choose. Could you tell me when you wear your uniforms? 23 Task 1 Speaking Brainstorming : How many types of clothes do the Ss know? Warming –up : Watch a video clip about a fashion show Suppose Alan watched the above fashion show about the unique clothes of Chinese --- Tang costume and Cheongsam, and the clothes for 55 minorities in China last Saturday evening, and one student(A) talked with him about that, yet another student(B) knows nothing about it. Now work in group of two: A using object clauses to tell B about the fashion show. Activities 1 : Pair work—to report a fashion show

24 Speaking Many people have to wear uniform. What kind of uniform do people wear? When and why do they wear their uniform? Students interview one of the classmates who pretends to be one of those who wear uniform. Then exchange roles to get more information. Activities 2: Pair work– to collect information about uniforms.

25 Speaking Group discussion about their present school uniform, exchanging opinions with the rest of the groups. Then with the help of the teacher, they collect all the opinions and compare them. Finally one should try to report to the class what kind of new school uniform (including material and style) they would like. Activities 3: Group discussion—to collect opinions about the present uniform and decide how to design their favorite school uniform

26 Writing Write a passage to their headmaster about what kind of school uniform they would like to design for themselves.
