11 Global Citizens Network 2013-2014 Step 2: The Purpose Your Target groups Who do you want to be involved ? other pupils in your school! other pupils in the network! other pupils in our partner NGOs and schools! the people in your community (young and old)! your parents...they have opinions and feelings too! your politicians...the people who like to say yes!

14 Global Citizens Network 2013-2014 Step 3: The Project The Core Elements The Awareness Day is centre stage of the mini-NGO campaign promote it in your blog use your blog to promote it - surveys, petitions, letters- set a date asap! - will it be a UN Day or will U name the Day? The Blog is the mini-NGO website - the blog is the cog - step by step... - delegate - create - activate - update The Showcase Day is your big day in May to get recognised! who do you want to invite? - big wigs, politicians, principal, parents, other special people? don't forget the media!

15 Global Citizens Network 2013-2014 Step 3: The Project Core Activities Survey the People find out what your target groups think on the Key Issue questionnaires, vox pop, interviews, invited politicians or NGOs, local press or radio Google Drive, Word or Excel docs, clipboard, skype, video camera, twitter Petition the People get people supporting you on what should be done about it create your petition on avaaz.org, change.org, ipetition.org, twitter Write Letters for the People get people who act for the people to act on it! local Councillors, local TDs, Government Ministers, the 6 Irish MEPs for Dublin
