3 Did you know….. Mercury is the closet planet to the sun? It is VERY hot in the day (600 degrees) And very cold at night (-300 degrees) Mercury has thousands of craters Mercury has hardly any air and no water

4 Did you know….. Venus is the same size as Earth Venus is always hidden under clouds…and has a constant thunderstorm The sky is red The ground is mountainous and has thousands of volcanoes The clouds act like a heat trap, and it’s about 880 degrees on Venus

5 Did you know Earth is the only planet with life..in the air, on the ground, and under water It is the only planet with liquid water and air people can breathe The earth travels around the sun every 365 days; which is one year

6 Did you know…. Mars is almost as big as Earth? Mars is called the red planet because it is covered with rusty colored rocks / mountains You could not breathe on Mars

12 The moon has no air and no weather It takes the moon about 27 days to orbit around the Earth It would take 130 days to drive a car to the moon The moon does not glow, it reflects light from the sun.
