Leave your backpack, coat or hoodie, and any food or drink items in your locker. Gather these items to bring to class: pencil, paper, assignments, vocabulary book, and charged netbook. Bring a sweatshirt, sweater, or jacket that is in compliance with the Dress for Success policy if you tend to get cold. Take care of personal needs on the way to class. Avoid congregating outside my door. Use time before class to take care of personal needs and get prepared to learn.

14 procedures: Entering the classroom
Make sure you have all of your class materials with you. Enter the room quietly. Sit in your assigned seat. Read over what is posted on the board and prepare to work on the bell ringer. Quietly complete the bell ringer while I take attendance.

15 Procedures: When You’re tardy
Knock politely if the door is locked. Enter the room quietly. Sign in on the tardy log page for your class. Quietly go directly to your seat.

16 Procedures: In the Classroom
Follow the PRIDE expectations. Stay out of the materials in, on, and around the teacher’s desk unless given permission. The file cabinets are for teacher use only unless you are otherwise given permission. Remain quiet when teacher is talking and avoid talking over other people. Refrain from applying scented lotions, body sprays, or perfume in or near this class.

17 Procedures: Working independently
Make an honest attempt at completing the work on your own. Reread the instructions, agenda, or rubric if you are not sure what to do. Quietly ask someone near you for clarification if you are still unsure. Look up words you don’t understand. If you still need help, raise your hand and wait patiently until I can help you.

18 Procedures: Turning in work
Electronic files: Save it in our shared Google Drive folder. Hard Copies: Quietly place it in the appropriate tray located on the black metal cabinet at the back of the room when you have finished your work. If you have a personal need that you must address, you may talk to me BEFORE the tardy bell rings or wait until after I have taken attendance. If something needs to be addressed after class has started, raise your hand and let me know that you need to speak with me privately. I will address your needs once I have given the class instructions. Hall passes will not be granted the first or last 10 minutes of class. This also applies to the three hall pass tickets given per grading period.

20 Procedures: End of Class
Make sure all completed work is submitted in the appropriate place. Make sure all papers on or near your desk have been put away or placed in the trash or recycle bin. Stay in your assigned seat until the bell rings. Straighten your desk and push in your chair before leaving the classroom.
