4 Moses Meets God Exodus 3-4 1. Who am I? Exodus 3:11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"

5 Moses Meets God Exodus 3-4 2. Who are you? Exodus 3:13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"

7 Pharaoh Meets God Exodus 5-15 Exodus 5:2 But Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and besides, I will not let Israel go.” Pharaoh’s Hard-heartedness  Plagues Note: There is no reference to God hardening the heart until after the sixth plague See 7:14; 8:15; 8:19; 8:32; 9:7 then 9:12

8 TEN PLAGUES (Exodus 7-12) 1. Water  blood Pharaoh's heart is hardened since magicians could do the same. (7:22) 2. Frogs Pharaoh has Moses pray for respite and promises to let the people go. When there is respite, Pharaoh hardens his heart. (8:15) 3. Gnats The magicians call it "the finger of God." Pharaoh's heart is hardened. (8:19) 4. Flies Pharaoh will let them go three days' journey. When there is respite, Pharaoh hardens his heart. (8:32) 5. Plague on livestock Pharaoh's heart is hardened. (9:7)

9 TEN PLAGUES (Exodus 7-12) (continued) 6. Boils God hardens Pharaoh's heart. (9:12) 7. Hail Pharaoh confesses that he has sinned, but when the hail ceases, Pharaoh hardens his heart. (9:34) 8. Locusts Pharaoh allows only men to go. Then confesses his sin. God hardens Pharaoh's heart. (10:20) 9. Darkness Pharaoh allows people but not flocks to go. God hardens Pharaoh’s heart. (10:27) 10. Death of firstborn Pharaoh allows them to go. God hardens Pharaoh's heart and he pursues them. (14:8)
