Summary XBRL Challenge Objective: Tools that rely on XBRL data, e.g., tool that extracts data for multi-company comparison via desktop application; or one that creates real-time valuation measures and delivers to mobile devices Oxide Solutions Statement of purpose: Build a web based system that will dynamically read and processes XBRL reported data and provide analysis and reports as well as integration with real time stock information for analysts. The system will dynamically read the SEC RSS updates and load and normalize the instance data. The system will provide in depth reporting and analysis by allowing users to use pre-defined ratios or custom ratios applied against single companies, multiple companies or across industries. The system will provide tools to review taxonomies. The system will be able to access real time stock quotes and integrate real-time and historical stock data with XBRL data.
System Overview Distributed Component Services for: –Dynamic monitoring of SEC RSS Feeds –Submission processor (normalize instance data) –Ratio processor (apply pre-defined set of ratio expressions to data) –Database –Stock price monitor (real-time and historical stock prices) –Integration processor (stock data + XBRL instance data + calculations and ratios) for regression and predictive analytics –Threshold processor * All services have REST interface Web based user interface –Built on Oxide open UI framework (very extensible) –Access to all data (drill – downs) –Reports and graphs Development environment –Ratio builder –Query Builder –Taxonomy viewer
Status Completed: Built service to monitor SEC RSS feeds Built service to process corporate XBRL submissions Built user interface to display and traverse taxonomies Build user interface to drill down into corporate submissions Planned: Ratio processor Threshold processor Real-time stock monitor Reports and graphs
