1 Grammar Activity Standard - ELA6C1.D: Students will demonstrate appropriate comma usage.

2 Grammar Mini-Lesson Using commas correctly. Rule 1: Use a comma between a city or town and a state and country. Use a comma after the state or country if the sentence continues. I lived in Augusta, Georgia, for nearly ten years. Rule 2: Use a comma between day and year. Use a comma after the year if the sentence continues. My brother celebrated his birthday October 9, 2009, with friends in Mexico. Rule 3: When writing a letter, use a comma after the greeting. Also, use a comma after the closing word. The closing word comes before the signature. Rewrite the letter on page 73 of the McDougal Littel book.

How do the children react when they realize that Margot has missed experiencing the sun? 11. Using page 71, define internal conflict and external conflict. What type of conflict do the children experience as they realize the impact of their actions against Margot?
