Global Warming is defined as the increase of the average temperature of the earth. The Greenhouse gases traps the Sun’s energy and warms the earth Global Warming is changing the rhythms of climate that all living things have come to rely on

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 0.8 degree Celsius around the world since 1880 and much of this has occurred in recent decades The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years It is said that the earth’s average temperature will rise between 2 and 10 degrees fahrenheit by the end of the century Coral reefs are highly sensitive to small changes in water temperature and suffered the worst bleaching ever recorded in 1998 with some areas seeing bleach rate of 70 percent.

Several Greenhouse Gases that are responsible for the warming The combustions of fossil fuels from cars, factories and electricity production CO2 is responsible for the highest amount of temperature change and warming Other gases that are responsible are methane, nitrous oxide, fertilizer, and gases used for refrigeration The loss of forest which store CO2 is another cause

Ice is melting worldwide, especially in the earth’s poles. NASA has reported that the arctic sea ice has decreased in size by 10% in the past 30 years The rate of sea level rising has increased over the past ten years. Some foxes and alpine plants have miragted north to cooler climates On average the worldwide precipitation levels, rain and snowfall, has greatly increased There has been a decline in the number of Adelie penguins in Antarctica and the number of breeding pairs has fallen from 32,000 to 11,000 in the past 30 years.

Take the bus, carpool, walk, or ride your bike Find a recycling depot close to you If you need a new car, look into a hybrid one Find an alternate fuel source Educate people on the problems and solutions Plant a tree! Reduce your carbon footprint There are many other ways in which you can help prevent further damages and try and reverse the ones that are already present

Some ways that we can power the world in a cleaner way are Biofuel Fuel Cells Geothermal Energy HydroPower Solar Energy Wind Power
