1 The Pre-Professional Co-Ed Health Care Fraternity Virginia Tech Delta Chapter

2 Mission Alpha Epsilon Delta is the National Health Pre-professional Honor Society dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in pre-professional health scholarship, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary, and others. The Society welcomes ALL students engaged in the pursuit of a professional healthcare career. AED offers opportunities for intellectual and professional development, provides a forum for students with common interests, and extends a program of service to benefit the college and university community.

3 Membership Requirements Active Membership  Attendance at 10 out of 12 meetings is required. In other words, you are only allowed to miss 2 meetings.  A minimum of 5 service points are required.  Attendance at 3 planned socials. Inactive Membership  Inactive membership is for those that cannot attend weekly meetings due to time conflicts with class or work. Thus, inactive membership allows you to be exempt from the Monday night meetings.  In order to be granted inactive status you must bring in a documented excuse that clearly shows why you cannot meet at 7 PM on Monday nights.  You may only be an inactive member for one semester.  Attendance at 5 special events and 3 planned socials is still required. Application & Dues of $30 Deadline for Application & Dues is February 6th, 2012

4 “What do my dues go towards?” -Social events (Ex: Chipotle) -Service events (Ex: Driving to RMH, team creation) -Speakers (Reimbursing drivers for coming to speak) -AED End of the Year Banquet -Senior cords -And more!

6 Teams Alpha Epsilon Delta 1 Alpha Epsilon Delta 2 Alpha Epsilon Delta 3 30 people per team… SIGN UP! $10 donation at sign up

7 Points 1 point = Sign-up for Relay with AED and raise $100 2 points = Attend 4 out of 5 Relay meetings 3 points = Attend Relay for 4 hours *1 point for doing Relay for Life with an outside organization and raising $100

8 Meetings Meeting #1: February 6 th Meeting #2: February 27 th Meeting #3: March 12 th Meeting #4: March 26 th Meeting #5: April 9 th *all meetings will be held AFTER general meetings*

14 Service Events -Ronald McDonald House, dates TBA Sign ups will be on the website -Big Event (3/31) -With AED = 1 service and 1 social Relay for life Multiple point opportunities throughout the semester

15 Service Events Oxfam and Feeding America -Collecting canned goods to go towards hunger- relief charity across America -Tonight is the only night we will accept these!!! -3 canned goods = 1point -Veggies, tuna, pasta, fruits, and overall nonperishable goods
