3 Salaried Employee Terminations (Faculty, Staff and Salaried Grad Students) Notify Payroll immediately if the employee should not receive a full payment on the next regular payday to avoid overpayment If the employee is benefits eligible, complete benefits termination form at: https://home.unt.edu/hr/benefits/insterm.htm https://home.unt.edu/hr/benefits/insterm.htm Retirement eligible faculty, staff, and adjuncts should also schedule an exit meeting with HR Benefits.

6 Use of Leave at Termination Vacation, accrued comp-time, and unused floating holiday or star performer hours may be used to extend an employee on payroll through the last day of the month in which they PHYSICALLY work. The employee’s timesheet should reflect the hours and type of leave used for extension on payroll. Time entry by department is required in EIS Time and Labor when leave hours are used to extend an employee on payroll.

7 Payment of Leave at Termination HRM-9 is used to authorize lump sum vacation, death sick leave benefits, or comp time payment at termination Only non-exempt employees may receive a lump sum payment for remaining comp time No timesheet or time entry in EIS is required for time paid on HRM-9 Pay calculation is as though the employee continued on salaried status, including payment for unused floating holiday hours or any holiday hours that fall during the calculation period.
