7. 7 Identifying Items for Unique Identification  Unique identification is required for items as follows: –Equipment or reparable items with an acquisition cost of $5,000 and above –Equipment or reparable items under $5,000 in acquisition cost if serially managed, controlled inventory, sensitive, pilferable, and mission essential –Consumable or material items only if permanent identification is needed
